What is yeast, what does it do, and why does it do that? Yes to Yeast is a three-day hands-on science and baking adventure where campers explore the fascinating biology of yeast and put it to the test with a different activity and recipe each day! From watching a balloon inflate through the magic of fermentation to mixing, kneading, and tracking the rise of bread in a bag throughout the day, to crafting their very own homemade burger buns — every session is equal parts science experiment and culinary creation. Campers will dig into the science behind fermentation, gas production, and how yeast makes our favorite foods possible, all while enjoying games and activities during lunch. And the best part? They take their delicious creations home!
